Top & bottom yolk compatibility?
« on: October 28, 2018, 01:05:33 PM »
Hello.
Did the steering geometry change in any way between the K1
& K6 models?
What I need to know is. Will any K top yolk match a bottom yolk from another K model?
I have a K1. But I am fitting F1 forks etc. But I want to use a Set of K yolks. This will allow me to fit my F1 clocks closer together by eliminating the F1 centre console & using the far nicer looking K consol/bar clamp.
Yesterday I tried to put things together only to find there is a huge difference in offset between a K top yolk & F1 bottom yolk. So I now need a bottom yolk to match the top one I have. But I'm not sure which K my top yolk is from. Hence my original question. Are all K model tops & bottoms compatible?
Regards.
Sean.

Well Rob.
Make sure it's a French Omelette. As they only use one egg.
Because in France. One egg is un ouef!

That must be why the Americans call them triple trees.  Saves all that confusion.

But why trees?

That's why I won't use Americanisms
Like Tightanium for instance.
But I think everyone will get the gist of my original post.
So I shall await the answer to my question.
Sean.

CB750F2 - in pieces
CB900F Hornet - the daily transport

Just to egg it on a bit, I think the word is Yoke in this context.

Yes indeed.
A spelling mistake on my part I do apologise to those of a pedantic bent.
But you got my gist.
Poor spelling & grammar is one thing.
But it is damn bad manners to point it out.
Regards as always
Sean.
