CLOCKS
« on: November 05, 2018, 06:25:41 PM »
Hi All,
I've checked through previous threads related to clocks but the last seems to be around 2011 . So I'm hoping for some  up to date assistance please. can anybody confirm if the clocks from a K6 would work on a k2. Reason being that is what D. Silver have in stock with no possibility of K2s  coming in the future. Or does anybody have any other suggestions. Original clocks are not in good shape !!!

                                 Thanks in Advance

How much “not in good shape”?

We have people on here who restore clocks.

If you had searched speedo or tacho you would have found many posts on the subject.
You mention they are not in good shape, a better description of their condition would bring a few recommendation as to the best way forward with them.

If you do need replacement (used) instruments, it might be worth contacting John Wyatt at Rising Sun Restorations in Tockwith, Yorkshire. He has helped me many times in the past with the supply of good used parts for items that are either unobtainable or too expensive to justify buying new old stock.

John was one of the original CB 750 restorers in the UK and wrote books on the bike. He was due to judge at David Silver's CB750 day, but apparently didn't make it through family illness.

I will have a contact number for him somewhere, if you can't track him down through the internet.

Thanks again for more info on my clocks query.  There seems to be a lot mentioned under Speedo - taco. ( apologies for my oversight in the description-    Kent 400 ) But perhaps I'm not calibrated yet to decipher which is relevant to my query.
Hopefully there is an answer there somewhere !!!
        Will k6 clocks work on a k2.

The clocks will work...i.e. the speedo and tacho needles will work. But the wiring harness for the various warning lights will be different and you will need to modify this.
