Lets play spot the difference K6
« on: November 08, 2018, 11:10:12 PM »
These are both UK K6 cases, first clue 2468164 has a M6 top bolt and 2468581 has a M8 top bolt. How many other differences can you spot  on cases only 417 apart  :o

The long numbers in the square box below the starter housing look different to me ;D
One day I'll have the time to restore it, not just talk and dream....

D shaped casting on top one where oil pressure switch goes

More pronounced rib on long oil gallery on top one

Can't see casting with hole at bottom RHS on top one but could be photo angle.

Surface casting surface finish sh*ttier on one than the other...but could be one was more corrosion weathered than the other.

Casting different ...centre of three holes below VIN pad

Casting hole below LHS of starter looks beefier on top one and hole not central on bottom one

Can't see hole left of starter on one but probably photo angle

Someone forgot to remove all of the residue of the base gasket on the top one prior to painting  ;D ;D

Oi, scrapping old gaskets off is my department, 😀😀😀 Its discoloration of the alloy, see it quite often on some of these old engines. You don't really think Graham would let me get away with sub standard work do you 😂😂😂

The piece of wood below the casing is in a different place on the second one.......😳. Is the piece of wood the prize? Should call it by its technical term of 'Upper crankcase assembly supporting block' and sell them on ebay😉
