Model years
« on: November 14, 2018, 06:37:38 PM »
I have a CB750K7 and is registered as a 1981 bike. I have checked the frame and engine numbers on the V5 with the info on this site that says the model year ended in May 1977. It is also confirms it as a UK bike based on these. Is there any way of finding out if this is the correct/original reg number? I bought the bike in 1991 so not much time for things to go so odd! Off the road for years but slowly coming together and may get sorted next year..maybe.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

They did not sell well and Honda + dealers had crated stock for years; just like the 550K3. If you get a proof of year of MANUFACTURE from Honda UK, which they should do if it is a UK bike; DVLA should alter the year to 77 but will probably leave the reg number the same. This would give you historic tax and mot.

Not unusual, I have a 77 UK 750F2 that is on an 80 plate. I also know of an F2 on an 82 plate. I am leaving mine alone as it is the original registration date for that bike and it fits with the bikes written history. Only another 18 months and mine will be historic anyway.
