Diode?
« on: November 18, 2018, 11:44:46 AM »
Hello.
When I stripped my current 750k1 project. The wiring was a home made rats nest. So I just cut everything out.
But now I am installing a new harness & when looking through my box of electrical components I find a Diode. This was fitted to the bike when I got it. But the parts book doesn't show the K1 having a Diode.
I believe this Diode is to allow the bike to start in gear with the clutch pulled in.
My question is. Can this Diode be fitted into a standard K1?
And if so. Where does it go?
I'm afraid that I'm a real Dimmock where electrics are concerned.
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Sean.

My guess would be that at some point a previous owner has fitted a later loom, which has obviously worked, but could cause all kinds of head scratching when trying to sort the electrics.
If it's got tits or wheels, it's hassle, if it's got both, RUN!!!
