Bit of progress on the K1 today, spent 4 hours cleaning up some of the sharp end - tried a new product (to me) for cleaning and protecting chrome and plastics; 'Quick-Glo', pretty happy with the result after the first effort:

Andrew - I use Bilt-hammer Deox-C to derust my tank internals. You Do need to flush out any gunk/varnish residue first. I normally remove the stale fuel, then degrease / flush (if you’re careful you can use a pressure washer lance to clean out internally. Then make up a Deox-c solution with hot water and fill the tank with the solution warm.

Been using that stuff for many years as we have a 40 litre heated bath of it where I work BUT .. don't leave any chromed parts in it for an extended period as I left a CB250K front guard in it and it started to strip the chrome under where the original pitting was. Having said that a quickish immersion of a USA 500/4 rear guard worked wonders on the underside.
