Spoke tool?
« on: November 30, 2018, 07:24:58 PM »
I've had a box of spokes and a spoke roller/ threader for years and never used them...until this week when I was sorting a new front rim for a project that had few loose fitting spokes/nipples...
So I made some up..great
But I have this I thought it was a bending tool but I just cannot work it out. Possibly there is something else missing..
Can anyone ID it for me and tell me exactly what it is...

I've not seen one of those before.

Presumably the CSK means countersink angle?

Looks like that rod out from CSK is something of a mounting mandrel,  could it be for jigging the component to present in that angle to be machined by something else?

Can't think what though.

Thats what i would guess as old Brit bikes had so many different hub sizes and types that angles of the heads must have been different.

You do know that spoke threads are rolled as that is a way stronger thread.

Imeant a spoke bending tool by the way!!

Yeah it looks like it should sit in something..a jig or vice..
A spoke sits nicely in it..in fact in the picture on the red bench there is one in it
It came with this spoke roller and a large box of spokes and nipples...
I tweaked a few of the longer blank spokes popped a thread on and hey presto..new spokes.
I've had the stuff for ages and almost got shot of it a couple of times but I'm now glad I kept it all

I think it's a drill bit grinding / sharpening tool?

Ok I'm convinced now..
Thanks for that..I can remove it from the spoke tools..
I was sure it was for the spokes somehow ..I guess I got blinded with tunnel vision and looked no further

Cheers
