Crich Tramway Classic Bike Show 2019
« on: December 07, 2018, 09:47:37 PM »
Had a couple of emails about next years event. Relevant content as below from first email and second as separate post.

Tim

Good afternoon,

First of all, many thanks to all of you that attended in the last two years and made the 'Classic Motorcycle Day' the success it has been so far. The 'Vincent HRD Owners Club' and 'Crich Tramway Village' team are working hard to make it another great day in 2019 and any previous issues we had, will hopefully be resolved.

One change this year which is most relevant to yourselves, the Club organisers, is that we are NOT making use of a 'club booking form this year'. Instead, I will monitor the event registrations that open in January via   www.tramway.co.uk/whatson/  and allocate areas accordingly. Each year we move the clubs around, so please don't expect to be in the same place as previous years. I do intend keeping the race bikes outside the depot again and we are definitely having an area somewhere for pre-war machines and vintage flat tankers.
You will, of course, be notified in advance of the event where your club or group will be allocated.

This year we are running the 'Public Vote' for 'Best in Show' again but are working on a plan to get more people to actually vote than in previous years. We would like you all to encourage your members to vote and get the public to vote.

One day I'll have the time to restore it, not just talk and dream....

And second email as below

Tim

Dear all,
a quick email to all interested clubs.
The Tramway staff have just informed me that registration for the 2019 'Classic Motorcycle Day' has now opened on their website  www.tramway.co.uk/whatson/
I've attached the entry form and the flyer to this email in case you want to use either of them or have difficulties getting on the website.
Please remember we are no longer utilising a 'Club Form' but are just having an individual entry form to make it simpler. We'll decide on club locations at the event once we have an idea how many are coming from each club.
We are recommending individuals to send off their entry forms asap as we anticipate reaching our capacity this year and please remember to include your stamped addressed envelopes.
One day I'll have the time to restore it, not just talk and dream....

Ok Tim. Shall we just do what it says then, fill in the form and send it off. Do we need to write Honda SOHC forum on the form somewhere, so they know who we are?

Who is going this year ? I have finally made a decision and applied, I received my entry numbers back this morning 73, 74. I would have thought they would have been higher numbers.

Just been reading through the regulations (terms and conditions and noted the following;
All vehicles must be covered by valid third-party insurance to the level of £5 million, without restriction, and this must cover all passengers or pillion passengers.
Err, seems a bit of an overkill, but do common or garden motorcycle insurance policies cover this or does one have to seek further insurance. If it's the latter then I cant see I'll be going. Insurance companies take enough of my money as it is.

It is standard for Shows, its Crich Tramway covering its own arse. If worried about it ask your insurance. I know I won't be doing so.

Have I got this right? Every bike that attends, even as a visitor must be registered? Can you just turn up on the day?

Yes, you can turn up on the day but you have to pay to get in. If you pre register, it's FOC for each bike and rider as an exhibitor, but pillions still have to pay.
