I did see this and thought I might go but I don't know what I'll be doing next week, never mind July. Just have to pay on the day or register anyway and see nearer the time.

The trouble with that is if you don't go it could stop someone else going if the register gets full, which it more than likely will, if the past is anything to go by.

Hahahahaha. The £5 Million Insurance criteria will probably be some smartarse jobsworth covering said smart arse.

No problem for me......cos I won't be riding there - but I bet if every biker who is planning to attend on their pride and joy was to query such a silly arsed requirement, and then refuse to accept it and/or not bother going, then said smartarse jobsworth would suddenly find himself/ herself out of said job....and common sense would probably prevail.

I thoroughly enjoyed visiting last year (in my car), but like many things nowadays, if the wrong people get involved in Health and Safety aspects, i.e. those who cannot exercise 'Common Sense', then what has always been a good day out and an enjoyable and pleasant experience for many ordinary Lads and lasses, unfortunately becomes the stuff of nightmares !

As some people commenting on here have already said - they ignore it because it's clearly a daft stipulation - but it's precisely because Attendees DON'T query it or flatly refuse to comply, that it ends up becoming the 'norm'......and the smartarse jobsworths take over the asylum !

Hi Folks,

Amidst all this #@%$ nonsense.....I have some good news.......I'm pleased to say that the very nice people at Crich Tramway are reviewing their Insurance requirements for Classic Motorcycles. Please see their comments below:

Dear Mr T,

Thank you for your email concerning the Insurance criteria for Classic Motorcycles attending our Classic motorcycle Event on 7 July 2019. You are correct in your point about the insurance and I very much appreciate you pointing out our error and thank you for reading the small print. Your regular motorbike insurance is, of course, absolutely fine, you do not need £5M cover. I shall make sure the forms are changed today.

I can only imagine that when the forms were originally compiled this was left over in error from the Traders application forms which is the only time we ask for this amount of insurance.

I hope that this clarifies our position and I very much hope we will see you at the event on 7th July.

Kind regards

I've applied to go on the CL450 for a change, it should handle the cobbles well.

I look forward to seeing you all again.

I have been asked to clarify numbers on this for space.

As I see it we have Julie, Graham, Mr Davo and Laverda 120 saying they are coming on bikes. On this basis I have said we will 4-10 in case any turn up on spec or not said they are coming etc.

One day I'll have the time to restore it, not just talk and dream....

Looking forward to seeing the CL450 Dave. Sorry in advance if I bore you to death with questions about the engine.
