I see what you mean, it's definitely not right and has been bodged by the looks of it. That bent bolt at the top isn't correct at all.

I thought it was not correct.it looks like a snapped off bolt shaft in lower hole,is that were the tensioner adjuster bolt should be?

In fact Paul, if you have a very close look in that hole where the adjuster bolt goes, it may be OK. It is funny bolt with 2 different sizes on the same bolt, thinner at the inside end. You would need to get the correct bolt and see what happens when you fit it. Unfortunately, that still wont enlighten you as to what else has been broken or bodged inside.

In the hole is a broken stud bolt.however the cam chain is nice and tight.the top hole is properly threaded and the bolt in the photo fits perfect-just no idea what it is supposed to do?

I would guess it is being used to force the adjuster plunger in and over tension the camcahain

If you look at the picture above, the bolt you have fitted is No.11 (although the bolt you have fitted in there is totally the wrong bolt), it is just a bolt with a seal, it serves no other purpose. But as Bryan says, it looks like someone has fitted the incorrect bolt there to push the plunger down to give tention to the chain via the mechanism. This would suggest a very knackered camchain with loads if play that needed taking up.

Back to wiring looms, brackets and tabs (oh my!)...

The twisted metal tab tacked to the cross member under the seat:

[ Guests cannot view attachments ]

It's kind of hard to see in this photo, it's been smooshed down by the seat.  I assume that's the "wire clip" mentioned on page 17, step 50, in the dealer setup instructions?  It seems pretty big to hold just a few wires, and anyway the right side doesn't have one (the helmet holder is there).  It's very flimsy, and feels like it will break right off if I twisted it back into position.

Do I have it right?

EDIT: not sure why sometimes my thumbnails appear sideways - but a click on the photo to zoom in shows it up-side-up...
