500s are always welcome.

The last few (many) new members have all had 400s.

Welcome to the 400four forum.   We like our photos on here, it saves us having to buy bike magazines.
Where's that 10mm socket got to?

Welcome to the forum. For me the 500/4 is just about the perfect bike, the look, the size, the power delivery and durability all make it a special bike in my books, not to mention the memories. Mines a sad, laid up project and has been for a shamefully long time, it's never, ever going to win shows unless there is a prize for massive mileage and wear, but it's like a comfy leather coat, well worn in and just nice and comfy.
Got a 500/4 with rust and a sidecar and loadsa bits. nice and original and been round the clock

Nice looking 500K1, your throttle cables need to be re routed down the left side.

What are your plans with her ?

Hi Trigger, the plan is to fix her issues and run her again, sticking front brake, warped f disc, fork gai tors split, seals leaking and overhall eng, fix 3rd gear
prob, replace broken pushrod and one new issue remove snapped m6 c/case bolt, thanks for throttle cable info hope that's why I joined

Should be finished later this week then  ;D ;D

Replace the caliper piston with a SS steel one with OEM seal and new nipple.
Skim disc and while your in that area, make sure the caliper arm is re greased and moving freely.
3rd gear is most probable the centre dog.
If you need a upgraded push rod, contact me as i make these  ;)
Cables go over the ear, down behind the left fork and through the hole by the coils to the carbs.

Good luck, it will nice to see another 500K1 back on the road by spring.
