That's what i thought with one of my old Hondas. It had DR8ES fitted, so i replaced them with DR8ES's and then found out it had resisted caps. It caused me no end of agro until i fitted the D8ES's.

Pete says it was running nicely before it's lay-up, and Pete knows his stuff, so I'd take it the DR8ES are fitted to non-resisted caps.

A numpty question, but out of interest - how can you tell if a plug is a non-resisted or resisted one?

Cheers
The plug number has an 'R' in it, ie DR8ES instead of D8ES. As far as the caps are concerned, i personally wouldn't know, one of our resident electrical experts will be able to tell you I'm sure. I think it is so rare to have non resisted caps fitted these days. As Paul said earlier, in the UK they were changed at PDI.

Your bike was a USA import and would not have had the metal shrouded HT caps fitted as standard. Nice progress BTW ... Pete will be chuffed it's gone to a good home  :)

Thanks for the info Julie, very useful to know.

Thanks Ash, yes - I believe Pete is glad it's gone to a good home.

I'm a bit OCD where car and bike cleaning is concerned; this is only Stage One of the clean........
