Replica Giuliari sports seat CB750
« on: November 01, 2018, 07:01:07 PM »
I’ve been fancying a relica 2-4 seat since i bought the bike last year.... but they are rare, expensive and often in need of complete restoration even if you can bag one. A company in Germany sell a really nice replica which is not always in stock and is also quite expensive. So I decided to opt for a wemoto special.... Now its here i can see its not as nice as the one from Germany in my opinion, but less than half the price.... I’ll give it a trial fit at the weekend.

;). Gave it a quick trial fit today, it looks ok but i will need to remove the rear grab rail to make it look right, then in turn I will have to fit some alternative indicator stems and a grab handle, uk style i guess, if they will fit. So a few little issues to fathom before its ready for a proper fit and photograph..  8)

I can report that the aftermarket seat supplied fitted by DK, when i bought the bike, is a far superior build quality than the wemoto giuliari replica... but heyho.

Looks good to me and at half the price of the original you can't really go wrong. The bike will look like a 70's time warp. Good luck with the fitting.

Update on the Wemoto sports seat.. unfortunately it didn’t fit very well, a big disappointment since it looks ok on its own. When fitted the whole seat base is twisted and also the holes are in the wrong place so it sits too far back leaving a big gap between seat and tank, see photo

So I contacted Wemoto, who are always helpful in my experience, and they agreed to refund my money. I realise that I could have messed about re-drilling holes and possibly made it fit...but I thought better to hold out for a better qualit item.

So with that in mind I have contacted Thomas of “classiccyclecity” in Germany, who have in the past supplied a superb looking giuliari replica..... see the link

At the moment they dont have any in stock but Thomas tells me that they may decide to make some more in April. They’re not likely to be cheap but they do look the bollocks.... So if anybody else fancies one, let me know and it may help to convince him to make another batch...

A small price to pay to rid ourselves of the non-democratic euro dictatorship...... :-) (although i prefer to keep politics away from the forums as a rule.... Anyway, back to the seat, shall I put you down for one?   ;D
