in Germany its forbidden to drive with such a hole in the engine because of animal welfare reasons. We dont want cat or rabbit hash on our streets.

Nope ..I give up...can't see what's wrong.

Do the valve clearances need adjusting.....or is it an electrical fault?

I got it...it's having emissions problems....

It's a dry sump conversion  ;D

Must intend to go racing or summink, I've heard they use them for that sort of thing.

I have heard it's vital to properly vent crankcases to avoid power sapping over pressure of the crankcases. Should I fit a similar 'free breather' kit to my Hornet?
