Ha ha, I decided to clear out my shed of a few project bikes onto Ebay recently. I can definitely sympathise with him getting naffed off with the tidal wave of messages from people who often never intend to bid and ask questions the answers to which are in the listing. Ok he could do more of a description, basics like saying no paperwork but I can do a receipt from me to the buyer can confirm its sold in good faith, and repeat the implication that no paperwork, means no paperwork a bit more politely. Certainly on my clear out, I had enough of people telling me they'd give me 2/3 of my asking price, especially as I'd said if it doesn't sell I'll keep it. Everyone wants a bargin, I get that but I had one guy who kept trying to get what I worked out as about 2.5k worth of bits at half the going rate on ebay and 1/3 of the specialist for that marque wants, he wanted to buy it under half price- worth a try, but having established in 1, 45 minute phonecall, that £1200 would not buy everything I had, there was a follow up phonecall of 45 minutes for me to be lectured on how hard and expensive it is to sell on Ebay so really I should be grateful for a chance to give the bits away. Bit of a backfire, I itemised what I had and found probably as bits its worth even more and prices went up. I dont think I was as rude as this guy got with his answers but by the 120th message asking my lowest price I was feeling a bit bored of replying, the start price is strangely my lowest point, it's an auction, start at the lowest, see where it goes.
