CB500K0 seat hinge
« on: February 04, 2019, 11:38:48 AM »
Hi, just started restoring a 1971 CB500K0.  It was originally a US bike and came in boxes, so I am fairly sure some of the bits will be off later bikes and some I know are CB550K3 bits.  I have two seats but neither have a hinge.  How do I identify if one is a K0 seat and where might I get a hinge (nothing on eBay at the moment).  The one hinge I have is much narrower than the mounting holes, more like what I thing the CB750 hinge was like, as it had two.  Will any other SOHC hinge fit a CB500 seat?

Many thanks

Raymond

K0 seat has no owners manual pocket and has the central spring.

Also has a ‘latch’ mechanism instead of the seat lock ‘plunger’ type from K1 onwards
