how to tell original colour?
« on: February 09, 2019, 06:48:35 PM »
my 550F2 is an american import so i don't have any paperwork for it or anything yet, its missing the side panels and while the tank is a matte blue colour at the moment it appears to be an orangey red underneath the blue (could be primer i guess)
but is there anything on the bike i can use to check what colour its supposed to be?

The USA F2 came in shiny orange or flake sapphire. Totally different to the UK F2 colours. This link will give you a idea >>> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Y7YkacdGEI

Very few of the old Hondas ever had a colour code anywhere and even the ones that did the code means nothing.
The colours available will be in the parts book as letter codes at the end of the number and should be given a name at the begining of the parts list along with which colours were available where
