With almost any other engine I’d be saying ‘oh no you can’t mix crankcases’ but with the unique design of the bomber, as long as you use the bearing caps that came with the top half, I don’t see that it matters. Mine have machined pairs for the outer bearings but not so on the four speed.I had similar problems with the CL450 alternator cover, mine had been attacked by a gear lever too. I couldn’t find the right cover unmolested, but winged it with one off a 500 twin eventually.
