CB350 K0 for sale
« on: February 20, 2019, 05:42:28 PM »
Now I've finished my CL450, and before I get committed to restoring a car, there's a narrow window of opportunity to 'invest' in another bike project (that's how I will pitch it to the wife).

What do you think of this for a project, a CB350 K0 US import from the Frog dude. Luckily he steps away from the easy start / remote fuel supply and just checks they turn over.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-CB350-CB-350-KO-1st-year-the-4404th-CB350-ever-made-A-MUST-SEE/222900719868

A pretty little thing, I always find that the earliest versions of any model are the best looking, then they get buggered about with over the years to make 'fresh' models for the marketing bods to flog.

It could be extremely low miles if it broke early or something bad happened, you wouldn't know until you got it apart for a look / clean and to change all the seals etc.

What the hell was going on for it to be geared down with a huge back sprocket and knobbly tyres to be fitted is anyones guess. Was the CL350 available then? Like my CL450, looking at the closeups of the wheels, the tyres seem to have been fitted with steak knives rather than tyre levers, damaging the rims.

Overall it looks very good, with paint that looks well worth saving, possibly a blown head gasket looking at that oil leak, how findable are needed stuff like seat covers, chain guard and exhausts though?

Im sure Ash knows what is avaiable for these, i know Honda sent out a service bulletin about pattern head gaskets failing and they have the centrifugal(forgot to clean) oil filter.

I doesn't look straight on the front end either to me unless its my eyeballs. Looks like the rear mudguard has been shortened as well.

Love the look of that bike! Best of all its virtually corrosion free so ripe for a sympathetic restoration, keep as original as possible would be my target on that bike.... looks like a great survivor, would be a shame to totally refinish it, but each to his own.. looks like a great starting point either way  8)

It looks a good buy....there is another similar CB350 on sale at DK in Stoke on Trent so I'd whip down there sharpish with a camera and take some photos cos it looks original........even down to the rear Sprocket (count the teeth) and the chainguard.

Good luck......and keep the photees coming.....we all need inspiration !

I’ve seen the DK one, but at twice the price I’m not interested, my projects are about adding value rather than buying the best one I can.

The photos are a good source of info though.

Downside is probably selling the CB750 though, garage space will get tight when I need to get a car in there, I’ll think about it over the weekend, then see if the 350 is still for sale.

Very tasty looking one for sale at Unit One Motorcycles, Wickham Market, Suffolk. Not cheap but looking at the pics got me thinking "is it worth swapping?" especially as it's only about 8 miles from me!!!  But I've owned the 400 for 30 years now, and I feel as though I'm just getting to know it!
