Bit left over
« on: February 24, 2019, 09:32:23 AM »
After fitting the replacement coils i have a piece left over from the parts box. It's No19 on the image and looks as if it attaches to a bracket but I can't remember where and it's not clear on the parts list. Any ideas welcome.

Funny, I was looking at that same picture a few days ago. Also I wondered what it was for and if I had ever seen it on my bike. BTW, I was there to fasten a loosened bolt, the one for the fat green ground wire. Now I know where it is. You have got it. >:(  Anyway, maybe somebody can post a pic of how it is supposed to be mounted.

One of your HT leads (probably number 4) is supposed to be supported by that bracket to protect it from something or other. What's your HT lead laying close to, probably a heat source.

Its actually a very thin curved channel that looks as if it's there to protect a single wire cable, just one as it's probably only 2mm or so wide. It's not obvious where it goes but it was attached to the forward coil bracket mounting bolt, so probably goes there somewhere. The most logical explanation is to protect the green earth wire but I can't be certain? Should have taken a picture...
