Centre Stand cushion
« on: February 28, 2019, 11:49:58 PM »
I noticed my centre stand when up is in contact with my exhaust and I'm not sure that should be the case as nowhere can I see a rubber cushion I'll swear exists to stop that ....?

There should be a rubber pad that fits into a hole in the silencer near the mounting plate.
They are available.

Cushion arrived in the post today and i went straight downstairs to fit it, alas no joy. I fitted the rubber T stud on the back of the cushion into the groove on the silencer that also holds the bolt that secures the silencer to a brace between it and the frame. As I really expected the stand simply kicked it straight off again. The grooves on the cushion face side on too, I doubt they are meant to do that, face on would be more like it. Is there supposed to be a seperate brack to carry this cushion that I'm missing?

Thanks for the images Julie that explains it, my silencer does not have the same fittings. I'm going to have to invent something.

That would explain it George. This is a Brituro silencer, which have the same fittings as the OEM silencer.

a rubber door stop maybe?

i have a motad silencer with a bracket from something else so the stand was hitting the bracket and i fitted a door stop.  it may not look great but it works!
