I also had a Suzuki Fz50, but more like my 3rd bike after a Kh125 and Gs125. Still have the kh. The Fz was amazing on fuel, Hereford to Cearsws  which is a fairly flat run of about 80 miles I geuss but show it a hill and it was feet down and paddle it time and that started to drink.
Got a 500/4 with rust and a sidecar and loadsa bits. nice and original and been round the clock

Welcome Mike ... you are amongst good folk here .... My 1st bike was a C200 90cc Sports and then CD175A sloper  :) Funnily enough never had the slightest urge to get a C200 again to restore.(The girls at my school and at my Saturday job used to joke that it was 'all bike and no engine compared with my mate's RE Crusader Sport 250cc )...  Sloper's a different matter though and I am restoring one this summer!

Welcome to the 400four forum, Mike.   That's 2 very tidy looking bikes there.  Good of you to post the pics.
Where's that 10mm socket got to?

Welcome Mike, lots of good info here, and what stunningly restored bikes you have.

I think i can claim to have started on the most embarrassing first bike at 16, a 1952 Motobecane Mobylette. [ Guests cannot view attachments ]
and then progressed?? to a sports tiger cub followed by a new CB72.

A Raleigh Runabout was more or less the same machine.

Variable primary drive via belt and expanding pully.

Didn’t go too well in the wet as the belt slipped.

My first bike was a Honda C90 in hearing aid brown.  No street cred at all.
