K6 Swingarm Pivot Rod
« on: March 06, 2019, 01:42:56 PM »
Hi all,

Hopefully one of you very knowledgeable types can assist me on this new problem??

I have a K6 750 which I've had the frame powder coated. Ive fitted new bronze bushes which have flanges which were same size as the ones that came out. I also scraped back to metal where the flanges sit so not riding high on powdercoat Once I inserted the pivot shaft I noticed that the pivot shaft does not protrude from either side of the new bushes slightly so that when the dust caps are fitted and its all tightened up in the frame it binds. It was like this when it came apart and as far as I can see its missing no parts so can only presume the shaft is slightly too short?

Has anyone any idea what length this shaft should be, and if I need to buy a new one where from as CMS out of stock and cannot see on DSS?

Also don't want to buy a new one if its just the same as the one I have?

Any assistance would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
John.

I got a 500 four one on the floor but only a tape measure to measure it with, will do that if you want.

I had the same problem with my K0 so I carefully filed down the outside surface of the bronze bushes either side and kept reassembling until the swinging arm just pivoted under it's own weight. I think  my problem was that I didn't fully remove the paint from the swinging arm before pressing in the bushes though. The collar was a brand new one from Yamiya but I have an old NOS one too and it's exactly the same length. Like Trigger says you still need to fit the end dust caps.
