Does what is says on the tin ISH
« on: March 24, 2019, 08:52:15 PM »
Bought this rediculously cheap valve compressor on ebay for less han £9 delivered! Was  always going to be shite  I even looked at a utube video saying so but it did basically work. So thought what could it do wrong with quite a simple mechanical process and bought one.

Hey ho, the build quality was shite and I had to file some rough metal off spring locating socket thingy. Having done that it worked very well. Threads used to compress the spring on the g clamp bit of it were a very sloppy fit.

Anyway it does the job easily for us ocasional mechanics who may never even use it again. And £9 quid, why not!!

Looks same as genuine Honda one, biggest mistake people make is trying to loosen collets by winding the threaded bar down and bending the frame. You need to loosen the collets with a socket and hammer first.

Agree with the hammer and socket. Gentle tap or you could find bits flying in all directions.  ;D

Thanks for Sharing, looked easier to use than a G clamp and bit of old fork tube with a slot cut in it thats my current method. Might invest when I dig the cb500/4 stuff out later in the year.
Got a 500/4 with rust and a sidecar and loadsa bits. nice and original and been round the clock
