Thank you to Menno.
« on: April 02, 2019, 03:37:15 PM »
As some may know, about a year ago I sent off the bodywork from my Suzuki GS1000 to Menno for refurbishment. On returning the items DHL managed to put a sizeable dent into the front of the tank so it had to be sent back to Menno. Always the professional, Menno carried out the repair to the usual high standard and returned it to me for the second time. This time DHL managed to lose the package for close on 2 months before one day a surprise package turned up at the door. During the time it was lost Menno managed to track down a replacement tank in France without prompting from me, fortunately that was not required. When I opened the package the paint had reacted due to being wrapped so tightly for all that time, so it went back to Menno for a third time. This time it was totally repainted and the decals replaced before once more trusting it to DHL's caring hands. This time it arrived in days without any damage.

I realise what a lot of work this has been for Menno due to no fault of mine or his, and it must have been frustrating to say the least. So now it's back together I would like to thank Menno for the work he put into this and to say what a superb job it is. Also to Diego (Piki) who supplied the replacement decals for the third tank paint free of charge. Thanks guys, you are true professionals.

I should point out that this bike is not a full restoration as the original was in fairly good condition. It has just been repaired where required with a bit of chrome and paint to put it back on the road. This is the one I don't mind getting wet.

Looks great, nice job you eventually got there......bloody DHL, but I figure they're all the same! :(

I'm talking to Menno at the moment about respraying my K1's paintset, but given DHL's extremely poor performance maybe me and Mrs Andrew-S should take a long-weekend break in Heidelberg and pick it all up on the way home.

Cheers

I think I just got very unlucky to be honest. I have sent my Bomber tank to Menno this morning, so hope it doesn't happen again. But I did notice this time around that Menno had super wrapped it in foam blocks and polystyrene beads. Probably would have stood a fair bit of bashing around. ;)

Great work by Menno as usual (and Piki).
I sent my CB250RSA fairing to Menno recently, I sent it via Royal Mail, more expensive but cheaper in the long run considering Parcel Monkey charged my debut card twice over last time!

I have used Parcel Hero the last 6 times always picking the DPD option (not always been the cheapest option). Been superb up to now and fairly cheap.

Thank you all for your very kind words.

It is a bit strange to see a post with your name (or in this case my name) in it.

To work in this line of work is much easier than in any other line of work is my experience.
Still it amazes me the amount of trust I get from all of you riding motorbikes.
Clients pack up their tanks and other parts and send them to me from all around Europe without any question of a doubt.

For me service is the way I would like to be treated when something goes wrong.

Being on this forum has allowed me to get in touch with very many people and I enjoy reading and sometimes giving advise.
Also through this forum gave me the opportunity to get connected with Diego (Piki) who finally was able and interested in providing stickers and decals in the proper quality I have been looking for for quite a while.

The decals on this Suzuki are also Diego's work so thank you Diego.
You make my work much easier.
