DSS Exhaust Question
« on: April 23, 2019, 06:20:15 PM »
Hi all . having purchased a repo exhaust set from Silvers has anyone had a problem where the upper and lower exhausts are Sealed with the sealing ring the protruding pipes are only half that of the originals making it extremely difficult to get a tight seal . I only noticed after fitting & have emailed DSS to point this out to them.

Yea thats all fine , i measured them against originals i have which were 20mm approx and the repo ones were about 10mm. i got them to line up ok but the sealing ring only just catches it

Hi mine are original hangers , it's the protrusion from the exhaust that is nearly half that of the original exhaust which doesn't give the sealing ring hardly anything to grip to. Also why do they seal together?

It's supposed to have a benificial effect in the high. The more the balance pipes are towards the head, the more it will benifit in mid and low. At least... that seems to be the theory. Note that the almost identical Benelli 500 Quattro (also 4 silencers) lacked these balance pipes.
