550 Braided brake lines
« on: April 10, 2019, 01:16:24 PM »
Hi All , I wish to replace the original brake hoses on my K1 with Braided ones ,( i know DSS sell rubber hoses but they are a bit pricey for genuine ones) as i can feel a bit of swell and the brake is crap although the pads and caliper look good  been bled etc , has anyone got any recommendations or advice on what to go for & also as mine is a USA model are their any length differences.
Cheers Dave

Dave,

I'm just doing the same. I found GREAT hoses from Goodridge, looking as stock but braided, very nice. Will share more details later today (you have my email too)

Hi Dave , I used HEL brakelines on my 400. They come in many colours inc. plain black if you want them to look like original. Good quality and a few spare copper washers in the set. 🔧👍

What is wrong with the OEM looking ones, they are braided but, you just can't see it  ;)

I used to get them made up in stainless by custom fasteners in Newtown. Sadly I think they no longer serve customers over the counter but they seemed to know a lot about the bikes and get the length spot on and a neat job.
Got a 500/4 with rust and a sidecar and loadsa bits. nice and original and been round the clock

Easy enough to do yourself and you can buy the fixings on ebay

Trigger, is it the DSS genuine brake lines that are braided inside or the aftermarket ones?
