Timing light advice

Last couple of years I used to borrow a mates snap on timing light, now he’s gone and moved too far away to pop round and borrow. So looking to purchase my own and need a dit of advice. As money is a bit tight and would rather put any spare money to some rechroming I was wondering if I need spend any more than £20 on a basic accuspark or is there some real benefit in getting more features?

How bloody inconsiderate of your friend 

In reality, most features are nice to have if you're doing it day in day out,  then, you'd appreciate some of it.

But in practice they all do the same and basic is fine. Main consideration is brightness as you have to do it in darker light to see some of them,  it doesn't stop it working though, and fine for normal use.

Laverda. Thanks for the link, I should have searched in the first place. Alas it means I’m even more confused. A basic one is all I need but it seems the pickup is the issue, well will just have to roll the dice.

I use a bog standard Draper timing light with the induction pick up. It cost about £20 and has given no problems.
Just make sure you dont drop it!
