I am thinking of buying a CB1100R.

Which one would you prefer, SC05 or SC08 ?

Which one is more collectable?
cheers, Uli

I’ve had both Uli. Guess it all depends where/how you plan to ride it.

The SC05 (RB) is rarer and easier to undertake minor restoration work - especially on the exhaust.

The SC08 (RC and RD) is harder to find parts for (especially the black chrome exhaust).

They are very very top heavy bikes imho but are great when sorted / actually moving along. But, moving them around is a challenge..

Thanks for input.

Just to have it. Once in a livetime.
I am not biking a lot. The 1100F would be better for cruising.

Anyway, are there differences in price between 05 and 08 ?

I found a really nice SC05, one owner bike in mint condition.
And I prefer the look of the 05.
cheers, Uli

I’d say the SC05 as the first year example will probably be more valuable. Don’t hesitate - go for it..
