TRIGGERS LAST BIKE PURCHASE
« on: May 12, 2019, 03:05:20 PM »
We have just been across the other side of the country to pick up another bike Graham has bought. I thought he was taking me out somewhere nice for lunch, ha bloody ha, I should know better.
Graham says this is the last bike he will ever buy. I want to share this with you all so if he buys any more in the future, you lovely lot can help me remind him of what he has said.
Many may think it would be another classic Honda SOHC/4 to add to the beautiful collection we already have between us. But no.......its another bloody Honda CD250u. His favorite all time ever bike. He now has 4 of them one lives in Greece).

Let's face it though, okay, the CD range are not sports bikes, but good solid reliable commuter bikes, simple to maintain with single carb etc, but mega reliable, and they just keep on going, I view them as bigger versions of the C50/70/90 series of bikes. Simple, cheap to run and insure, and above all, they ARE SOHC Honda's ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
If it's got tits or wheels, it's hassle, if it's got both, RUN!!!

Great minds think alike Hairy  ;)

They have a twin carb, will sit at 65 mph all day, do 70 mpg, takes 1.6ltr of oil at a service (no filter).
The engines are bullet proof, used also in the CA250,CMX250 and the two fifty.
I did read a article some years ago about a guy riding one from Australia to the UK :o

;) dream on .I can see the problem here, you need to sit him down and have a long chat you do realise this is an ongoing illness and will not stop, he is in denial ,if he came online and said this is his last purchase we might agree with you, but  he is like the rest of us addicted to rust there is no cure as yet, apart from buying more rust so let him pick a different colour maybe? perhaps  that will help , try red that looks a lot like rust and it might TRIGGER summit off in his man cave brain  ;)
I suffer from the same illness my wife wants me to go on the jeremy kyle show and front it out , but like most cavemen I dont see that there is a problem I only have six cb750 k0's there is seven days in the week so I think i could stop at seven maybe?
so try and cut him a bit of slack or he will end up on the wagon like me but these days i fall off more than I'm on it, did you know that lager looks like engine oil in a glass? but tastes a lot nicer, they have even named STELLA lager after a woman so we always have our nearest and dearest close by ::) im gonna get another can of oil i have had to much sun  today 8)
 enjoy i pizzed

Never had a problem with any of mine.
Had one in with a 1st gear problem, the oil was like water and after some interrogation found that the owner had never changed the oil in 11 years. Had a two fifty in with a gear box problem but, that had been down the road "hard" and had a crack in the crank case.

The one in the link could be wrong'un. If you look closely, the spokes have been painted ( at that mileage, it should still have yellow nipples). Painted front forks and if you scan, you can see the over spray on the gaiters.
If it was 7700 miles it would still have the oem chain and sprockets, yellow nipples but, does still have the OEM tyres so, could be original that someone has tarted up
