CB750F UK/USA Indicator lamps
« on: May 14, 2019, 09:59:12 AM »
Hi,

On my 1976 CB750F1 will USA spec larger indicator lamps fit directly onto the original UK indicator stems?

Is the splined part of the indicator stem the same size on both UK/USA models?

Regards

Skoti

Yes, the stems are the same diameter and they will fit, the big question is WHY you would want to fit what most people take off?

Thanks for your reply to my question.

The answer to your question is I need a headlamp bracket and can only source a USA spec one with larger indicator lamps fitted.
If possible I would prefer to remove the USA indicator lamps fit my original UK spec indicator lamps.

Yes, that would work. There was a new old stock one on e bay Germany a couple of weeks back, still there, item number 372665836942. Would probably be cheaper than a used one from the states time postage etc is paid.

Hello,

thanks for the help and advice, but I've discovered the stem diameters appear to differ as does the part numbers.

The UK version is here on CMSNL's web site:-

https://www.cmsnl.com/honda-cb750f1-super-sport-1976-england_model14680/stay-head-light_61313392600/#.XNqvaGd7ncs

The USA version here:-

https://www.cmsnl.com/honda-cb750f-750-super-sport-1976-usa_model490/stayhead-light_61313392000/#.XNqwK2d7ncs

A search on sohc4 site gives me 14mm stem size UK and 22mm stem size USA, so I'm a bit unsure.

The one in Germany I'll be a European one, which I believe is the same as the UK one. If you put the part number into CMS website, then view linked machines, it is also fitted to the UK bike as well as the German one, despite the minor difference in part number at the end UK ends 000, German one ends 600, but it says it is the same part on both bikes.

I think the threaded end is the same UK & US but the spline end differs so you can fit either complete unit to the shell

Thanks for your reply and help.

Yes you are correct, UK and German models appear to use the same European type headlamp bracket part number 61313-392-600.
This is the bracket that would fit my UK spec indicator lamps.

As you mention, headlamp bracket, part number 61313-392-000 is available from ebay in Germany:-

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HONDA-CB-750-F1-NOS-Lampenhalter-vorne-front-headlight-bracket/372665836942?epid=1614604136&hash=item56c49d658e:g:EJIAAOSwUR9c0Ui7

However the photo of the parts label on the ebay listing indicates it is not a European part but a USA headlamp bracket which according to CMS website (view linked machines) is only suitable for USA, Australia and Canada.
This bracket may also probably fit my UK spec bike but my UK indicator lamps would not fit due to the larger stem size.

I'm unable to find the information on the CMS website that states the headlamp bracket part numbers ending with -000 and -600 are the same part for both USA and European spec bikes, maybe the current part numbers have been superseded, please can you provide a link?

Thanks again for your advice and assistance.

Hello Bryan,

thanks for confirming the indicator spline ends differ, I'm also sure you're aware that the CB750F1 front indicator stems are an integral part of the headlamp bracket.

Best regards

Skoti.

The one on German e bay actually has the Honda part number in the photo ending 000, which is actually the one on CMS website under CB750F1 England, although the e bay listing states it ends 600, which is the German model. I am pretty certain that the e bay one will be for your bike, but you could message the seller and ask him to clarify what the exact part number is that he has for sale, as according to CMS the 600 suffix and 000 suffix are interchangeable. It could of course be that Honda changed the part number and it has not been updated on both the UK and Germany listing of CMS. Anybody on here got an original parts fiche?

Right. Been searching CMS part lists. The French 750F1 uses the 600 headlight frame, same as the German one. The French one uses the same part number indicator bodies as the UK bike, so the one on e bay WILL fit your bike AND UK indicators. Hope that clears it up for you, so the e bay seller, wether it is the frame ending 000 or 600 will fit your bike and indicators.

Thank you once again for your reply,

But I seem to be getting conflicting info.

As you correctly state the item on German ebay clearly shows a photo of the headlamp bracket with a Honda parts label  61313-392-000, also the item specifics part number reads the same, which according to CMS fits a CB750F1 USA model.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HONDA-CB-750-F1-NOS-Lampenhalter-vorne-front-headlight-bracket/372665836942?epid=1614604136&hash=item56c49d658e:g:EJIAAOSwUR9c0Ui7

Please help me confirm if part number 61313-392-600-000 is actually for CB750F1 England, France and Germany.
As the link below directly to the CMS website indicates that this part number fits a CB750F1 USA, Australia and Canada.

https://www.cmsnl.com/honda-cb750f-750-super-sport-1976-usa_model490/stayhead-light_61313392000/#.XNqwK2d7ncs

Where as this link below indicates that part number 61313-392-600 fits the CB750F1 England model.
https://www.cmsnl.com/honda-cb750f1-super-sport-1976-england_model14680/stay-head-light_61313392600/#.XNqvaGd7ncs

So in summary then CMS list 61313-392-000 for USA and 61313-392-600 for England, France and Germany.

I'm still unsure what's what so please help by opening the provided links and confirm your advice.

Also if possible please provide me with the link to the CMS website that states the parts numbers 61313-392-000 and 61313-392-600 are interchangeable.

Thank you very much for your time and help.

Best regards

Skoti.
