Roy......regarding the other 10 Triumphs - well unfortunately, they would need another another 10 'spreadsheets' ! I just described what's been spent on the 1970 T120R and the CB750K4 as a rough guide to others who might be contemplating a 'Project' build.

I'm not complaining about the costs....far from it, I'm lucky enough to have been able to afford it........no Kids at home, no mortgage, no 68 Plate Jaguar/ Audi/ BMW etc. What I can't quantify is the great experience and immense pleasure working with old bikes provides, and the really great people who I have met along the journey. Now those benefits really are priceless.

What newbies don't realise is that most 'sizeable' parts often cost £100 on average to buy or £50 on average to refurbish (to a good standard). Many here will say that's baloney.....all I can say is that's what mine have cost (I'm not a Trader, and I can't reclaim the VAT or shipping against my 'expenses'), and over the last 10 years, that's been my experience.

I'm not sure about the CB750, but the Bonneville has 1882 parts and if they are broken, rusty or missing in the first place.....and it will all add up....£13K so far.....I thought my spending on it was finished a couple of months ago, but I have bought another £500 of bits since - and that's without a spreadsheet !

Would I do it all over again ? Of course I would.......there's another 10 Triumphs waiting. I may be 69, but I'm not finished yet !
Now: 2008 CB1300S, CB750K4, 1970 Bonneville. Various other 1960's 650 Triumph T120's/ TR6's/ TR6C's (all in bits...many, many bits unfortunately). Previous: 2007 CB600FA, 1976 CB500 Four. BMW F800ST. GS750E. ZZR1100. CB1300 (2). ZXR1200S. VFR800. CB750 Nighthawk. CX500. XS500 Yam. Suzuki GT500. BSA A10. Various Lambrettas. Zundapp Bella (honest).
