Ah, shame you won't be there this year Paul. Can't enter en mass this year, we have all had to submit our entries individually. But, i think there are a few of us going again.

Hi,

Please see email below I have received. Self explanatory but if you can let me know if you are intending coming, I will forward expected numbers so we can be allocated space as a forum.

Various  attachments referred to are accompanying too. As per my original post for the 2019 event, it is down t the individual to enter direct, not as a club as previously. Assume most going have already booked??

Let me know if you have any queries.

Regards,

Tim

Dear all,
well its now 2 months until the 3rd Classic Motorcycle Day and preparations are building up, hence emailing yourselves.
I've been in touch with one or two of you recently and some in the distant past but hopefully most of you will be coming along to this our 3rd CMD.
Firstly I'd ask that if your members are coming along, please get them to submit their entry forms asap.
The entry form, T & C's along with a map of the site are attached and remember its one entry form per bike. There is no Club form this year to keep it simple and you can order extra 1-day tickets on the form for friends not coming on a classic bike.
Once I have an idea of how many from each club are coming, I can start to allocate space for each club/make.
We are forever trying to improve the event for you and this year we can tell you that;
1. We are having a separate queue for members of the public with pre-paid tickets to ensure a swifter entry
2. There will be extra catering facilities and an ice cream van on site
3. We will be encouraging everyone to take part in the public vote for Best in Show which for the last 2 years hasn't gone very well - so please tell all your club members and visitors to vote on the slips provided.
4. There will be a live band
5. A BBMF Lancaster flypast
6. Two extra trophies - Best Japanese and Best pre-war (1939) machine, making a total of 6 trophies to be won
7. There will be a specific area for the pre-war bikes
8. A limited amount of event T-shirts (just Large and Extra Large) will be for sale in the Tramway shop on the day and hopefully a pre-order facility which you'll also be able to pick up on the day.

So, please get the entry forms submitted and tell your members whats happening.
If you do Facebook please check out our event page 'CRICH TRAMWAY VILLAGE CLASSIC MOTORCYCLE DAY', which has regular updates and a message facility
Finally, if any of your members want to help on the day, they are more than welcome, as you can never have enough volunteers, just let me know.
Any questions just ask 24/7
Regards

Maybe I should have strapped a large cushion to the seat, I've a feeling this is going to get painful over 4 hours😢!

Yep, sore backside time again as I'm going on the 400/4. Most uncomfortable seat Honda ever made 😲😲😲. I'm thinking if I ride her nice and hard, with knees down on the bends, backside off seat, my bum won't have time for pressure sores to develop 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I think Honda made the 400/4 seat from a plank of mahogany covered in black vinyl! Even the DSS pattern seat is the same! The cb250rs seat was obviously made from left over 400/4 seats!
I had a lovely ride up to Melton, Rockingham village is something else, I've made a mental note to stop there for a coffee on the way home on Monday. The bike didn't miss a beat and is now run in at 800 miles (and an oil change at 600) so I was giving it some beans 😊. There's something very satisfying and rewarding riding a small bike hard but going slowly compared to bigger bikes, big grins for 160 miles😁.
Dave, I caught the last of the showers as I approached Buckingham, I knew I would because I'd washed the bike before I left home!

Mine is a DSS pattern seat (I assume, as it a plastic base) . I'm sure my 1st 400/4 back in the day was more comfy, or I just didn't worry about things like that then 😁😁😁
