3 jets here can someone tell me which is which please, I haven't a clue!

Suzuki 50

Unless a very unusual layout,  it's main right in the centre that the throttle needle valve modulates.

Then pilot jet just below it in pic, and the brass screw accessible when float chamber is fitted will give you adjustment of idle/pilot circuit to set it running correctly.

thanks to you carb experts  :D cleaned up the mains and the bowls etc, just got to get mole grips on the pilots now...really looking forward to it  :-[

You need to verify that the pilot circuit/passages are clean and free of debris else you'll be taking the carbs out again!

With adjust screw and jet out,  have a really careful look with bright torch and blow through with carb cleaner.  You really have to be scrupulous to get them reliably functional.

yeah thanks, have done all that and re-assembled them, they are now almost back on but have had enough for today, just one rubber to get to sit right is all now, oh yeah and the airbox with almost inaccessible bolts etc..grrrr

has anyone looked at the CB500/550 carb specs on SOHC that were posted by Glenn Schauffer in 2013? My bike  came out of the factory in August 1977 and has PD46 stamped on the carb rack. Do X46 carbs exist and would they have X46 stamped on them or PD46?, 
CB550K3, CB550K1, Yamaha Midnight Star, and CA77 in 2473 pieces (at the last count)
