Is horn button also headlight flasher
« on: June 09, 2019, 03:06:56 PM »
Hi all. Any thoughts welcome.
I had a vague recollection the pushing the horn button to the right is also a headlight flasher?
Many thanks. J

If it's a UK 500/4 K1....the answer is yes.

Many thanks. It’s EU/ Italian model K1 and has a sloping sided button that slides to the right, as well as pushing straight in for the horn.
I’m hoping it just needs a wire reconnecting in the headlight shell.
Do you think if it has the sloping button it should work? I’ve seen a pic of a version with a plain round button which I’m hoping would be the only type with no ‘flash’ function.

Your switch is the same style as the UK model then, so im assuming yours has the same functions but, I personally don't know if both should be wired in on your spec....being an EU/ Italian they may have had different lighting compliance regs but just used the same style switch as UK 🤔🤔🤔

Many thanks again. Guess it would be logical if it was meant to function. I expect the Italians would have wanted it to! Currently the wiring is external on non original bars so I could run a cable easily.

If it is supposed to work it is not an external wire but wired inside the switch

Yes. Unfortunately on mine the original bars were replaced with ones without wiring holes and the switches have been modified with holes and the wires are taped together and go externally to the headlight. Not pretty! One day I’ll replace with bars with the right wiring holes. I’ve not seen 500/4 ones but there are some 400/4 ones that look possible.
