550K1 - carb rebuild set
« on: June 20, 2019, 01:36:36 PM »
As I still have issues with my stock carb 022A (550K1 1975, USA model), I'm preparing for eventual rebuild

Can you please recommend proven source of carb parts (kit)?
I found one on 4into1 https://4into1.com/carburetor-repair-kits-complete-set-honda-cb550k-1974-1976/ - but not sure about quality
They claim kit comes from Taiwan

Ideally if I can buy it in EU due to taxes/shipping...

I want to buy at least needle valves, needles with clips and emulsifier tubes, viton rings

If you just want the o rings to rebuild the carbs you can buy them individually on eBay from specialist suppliers such as sealsuppliesuk at a fraction of the cost of the specialist kits.  I got enough for 6 sets of carbs for £20.  You also have the option to upgrade to Vito seal if you prefer.

Order a carb kit from Cruzin and replace the o rings with Viton from Gerben in Holland. If you use nitrile o rings, they swell up on contact with modern fuel   ;) ;)

Thanks guys!

So, with regards to viton O-rings, I need to know sizes and qty used...

I've seen it some time ago on the forum (here or us) but cannot find it now..

I need this for CB550K1 (carbs 022A) and also for my CB750K7 (PD41A carbs)

Thanks!

I was looking for the list of o rings sizes the other day and couldn’t find it either. Anyone know where it’s gone. I can’t remember if it was on here or the USA site.

For 022A & 627B carbs I used.
Float valve      5mm x 1.5
Main jet      3.5mm x 1.2
Float bowl      68mm x 2.0  But found it a bit big on dia.
Fuel tee      7mm x 2.0
Drain screw  5.5mm x 1.5

The sizes are also in the parts list, which lists the float bowl size as 67 x 1.9 and the fuel T as 7.8 x 1.9.
