The missus wants some space
« on: June 30, 2019, 04:48:11 PM »
Hi guys not been on in a while. Unfortunately I am forced to sell my pride and joys due to the wife saying she wants some space. Unfortunately irreconcilable now. Currently living in mum and dad's conservatory in Heald Green. Anyways my xt600 dt175mx and cb750 k8 are all planted on ebay at the moment as I don't have the room. Am OK. Gutted  to list them but need to downsize. Many thanks for all your help.  A guy called Tell will be along shortly with questions as he's bought my K8 off ebay and is a nice chap and have recommended he joins this forum. He likes his honda XL's XJ's BTW. Regards Simon

I hope she's downsized her shoe and bag collection.
Where's that 10mm socket got to?

That is really sad, as I explained to my ex and current wife I have had the F1 longer than you so if one is to go it will be you.

Good luck

Cheers

I feel your pain mate .. sorry to hear you are having to sell up.

When I sold my CX500 the buyer got a bloke called Steve Dann (Danns Transport) to deliver from East Yorkshire to Anglesey even though I think the courier was based around Bristol. He seemed a decent chap when he picked up the bike and certainly strapped it in well and there were no hassles involved and I don't think it cost an arm and a leg. He seems to collect a bloody great van full from all over the place so I don't think location is that critical. Will dig his card out ... says he is fully insured

No idea of your finances but what about renting a garage or a garage share. Heartbreaking getting rid of your favourite toys. My missus says I love them more than her, Ahem!!

Well waved goodbye to him on the courier van 6am this morning  :'(
He had to take a run up to get him up
the van ramp. Then I saw him pick the back up and move it sideways  :o

Roy touched a raw nerve there with his comments about his Missus.......I was getting ready to go and watch Manchester City play many years ago and my Wife (Ex Wife now) said that she reckoned that I thought more of Manchester City than I did of her.

I rapidly put her right though with this little retort: "Actually, I think more of Manchester United, than I do of you".

We do get on much better now than we ever did when we were married !

Many more women might do well to remember that most blokes who mess around with old bikes/ cars/ boats/ tractors etc etc find that they have no time/ funds or the inclination left to mess around with floozies, jezebels, Women of ill repute and/or any others who might be 'easily' led astray.

You can't have it both ways....as those who managed to leave their marriage with just the clothes they were wearing at the time can vouch ! (me included). Hahahahahahaha.
Now: 2008 CB1300S, CB750K4, 1970 Bonneville. Various other 1960's 650 Triumph T120's/ TR6's/ TR6C's (all in bits...many, many bits unfortunately). Previous: 2007 CB600FA, 1976 CB500 Four. BMW F800ST. GS750E. ZZR1100. CB1300 (2). ZXR1200S. VFR800. CB750 Nighthawk. CX500. XS500 Yam. Suzuki GT500. BSA A10. Various Lambrettas. Zundapp Bella (honest).

Looking at list of bikes at the bottom of the post, how do you even afford to eat! :P
One day I'll have the time to restore it, not just talk and dream....
