The ZZR250 really does look like a ZZR600, I bet there is hardly any difference in size between them. Sounds like an interesting project for the winter months.

It’s a real problem when somebody buys something and then doesn’t arrange to collect it, which was the agreement. I had a vintage racing bicycle here that I sold on eBay and received payment promptly and as time went on lost contact with the seller. I had it all packed in a bicycle box and labelled ready to go 10 years it was knocking about here. Now it wasn’t mine to sell or dump so I didn’t know what to do. So I did the right thing and sold it again this time on the local market place.😡😡

  Make sure you surrender your licence Phil and don't wait until they take it off you. Otherwise when you want it back the DVLA will drag their feet as
  long as possible before returning it.  Also when applying for it back do it as soon as possible as it will not be exactly quick.  and keep asking your
  consultant if you can have it back. They seem to lose fact of how important such things can be to people. Now you are in the system it will all
  happen very quick.

Thanks for the advice. I'm planning to surrender it on Thursday (after op on Wednesday) as my son is taking me and he's a named driver on my policy. If I don't have a licence, I can't be the main driver on the policy for my son to be a named driver. I'll then try to insure my car in his name as he is only a named driver on his partners policy. My wife can't drive on the motorway so have to rely on my son to ferry me about now. After Wednesday, its going to be about 4 weeks before treatment on the tumor (apparently to allow brain incision scare to heel) so will have time to sort insurance out.
Ted - symptoms have been occasional tingling/pins & needles (intense ache) below left knee that lasts about a minute - no seizures or blackouts. Brain guy perscribed some tablets to stop the 'episodes' but takes a few weeks to take effect I'm told. So, hopefully when all treatment complete and confirmed by consultant, not too long in getting licence back.

If no blackouts or fits you might not have to endure full 12 months with no licence. It will clearly depend on what your consultant says & finds.

As an experience of heart attack, a lot different i know, pester your consultant as to when you are fit then apply for it as paperwork will not be sent out until you have applied, they neglect to tell you that

Only just read this thread. Sorry to read your news Phil. Big strides made even in the last 10 years in treating this and glad you are getting prompt attention. I think we all here spend far more time in the garage than actually riding bikes these days anyway. Keep busy.

Really sorry to hear that news Phil. I have a good friend struggling with cancer at the moment. Sounds like the brain guy is on top of the situation so best of luck mate.
