CB750K7 INTO F2
« on: August 02, 2008, 03:48:08 PM »
I'M NEW TO THIS FORUM SO DON'T ALL SHOUT AT ME

I have 750k7 with a badly corroded frame and have picked up a frame in good condition from e-bay. It appears virtually the same but from the frame number (CB750G) i think is from a 750f.
Can I use my parts on this without too much fuss or will it get very nasty? I have already identified the rear footrests are totally changed, and the side-stand location. Other than that they look identical.
Any help/suggestions welcome. It's been off the road for several years and deserves better!
I can then get rid of the BMW!

Hi and welcome, not good news ! the CB750K7 was a totally different bike to the F1/2, the K7 engine and a lot of parts will swap over, however the F2 had comstar wheels front and rear, twin discs up front and a single disc on the back wheel. The K7 petrol tank. oil tank and seat/mudguard are also different to the F1/2.
You would probably be better off looking for a K series frame, have a look at this site, they have parts lists which will show what parts the two bikes have in common.
