Fitting standard airbox - best method
« on: July 26, 2019, 10:18:18 PM »
I'm going to fit the airbox and carbs to the K6 project I'm building (having welded the airbox frame brackets back on that the previous owner ground off!). I remember having trouble juggling them onto my standard K2 but as it was back in 2014 ish, can't remember what was the best method and thought I would ask the experts to avoid mucho causing and swearing in this scorchio weather (sorry, went all Spanish there - must be the weather!)
Current Bikes:-
Honda CB750K2 (1975)
Honda CB500K2 (12/1972)
Honda CR750 Replica (1972)
Honda CB350K0 (1969)
Kawasaki ZZR1100D3 (1995)
Kawasaki ZZR250 (1990) Project (Going on eBay ASAP)

Try it on a CB400 /500 or 550, you will be swearing a lot more fitting them than on a CB750 Phil 🤣🤣🤣

Its easy Phil, Inlet rubbers on first ( a little silicone spray helps) Then the carbs and then the airbox top (Don't tighten up the two air box bolts until last  ;) ;)

Thanks Graham - no chance of tightening up the airbox bolts - there's no holes drilled in the brackets yet (welded on blank bracket to ensure the I get airbox in right position - should be near enough though as used measurements from my K2)
