Keen and inexperienced in North London

Hi all,
got the CB550 bug last year, after 30 years and more on Vespas. I have grown up, I have graduated
Still chasing gremlins but getting there with my 1977 CB550k(3) hoping to meet experienced enthusiasts in North London.

Does anybody know of working places / areas / garages that could be hired when in need of carrying out some work? I do not have a garage and with the season closing in it's nice not to have to rely on dry weather even for the simplest of tasks....

Welcome to the forum Michtag.
I'm in north west london.
You can look on your local council website for garages to rent. Most councils will have a few to choose from (Hillingdon does anyway). Very few have any power though.  Before you commit to renting anywhere go and check the area first, some garages are in very dodgy locatons and hidden away and therfore ripe for breaking in to.

I should have used the term "work shop" perhaps, rather than garage. My council has offered me one option (after demolishing the one i was renting already) but the closest one was 2 miles away and it really makes no sense.
What I wanted to know was if there are tooled garages/workshops that i could rent by the hour when needed. There was something like that in Oval/Kennington years ago and there are similar places outside of London. Basically, you drive/ride in and you can use their lifts and tools for the hours you have booked them for. But I have not found such a place around here.
I will surely pester you all for advice!
