Morning All!
« on: August 20, 2019, 11:28:30 AM »
Just to say Hi to one and all!http://www.sohc.co.uk/Smileys/default/smiley.gif

Looong time bike rider from the UK during which I've owned a good selection of various makes but currently am the proud owner of 1972 US import CB500 Four in not quite showroom condition, but I'm working on it to the point where I can claim it at least has patina! Had a 400/4 back in the 1970's which I "tastefully" modified to the point where Honda would have disowned it, but I liked it; quick enough to do several 10sec runs at Santa Pod back in the day and still get me to work plus two up holidays to the I.O.M. TT with the lady wife.

Welcome to the forum Bob.
I think we were all guilty of undertaking 'tasteful mods' to our bikes back in the day. We all now wish we'd kept the original exhausts, handlebars, seats etc instead of leaving them in the garden to rot!
Enjoy the forum and post photos of the bike if you can.

Dropped a couple of pix in the gallery. Only about forty odd years between them so I stayed out of the one of the 500 to sustain the youthful, dashing image. ;) The 500 looks good from this side but needs new pipes on the other, plus I've been waiting 3 months for a bloke to finish the repairs on the h/l brackets. They should be worth at least 2k by the time I get them back! :o

Welcome from me too Bob, I've taken the liberty of posting your photos from the Gallery - saves others searching. Nice looking brace of CBs and the obligatory 70's porn star tache - I think most had one of those too in the 70s, including some of the ladies......... ;D

Appreciate the welcome. I put the times I got down to tight leathers, a skinny frame and maybe some sneaky ways of stripping weight off the bike without being too obvious.  ::) Being a city centre lad traffic lights were my speciality anyway. ;D Would have put the pics here but I can't see how to do it...the one of my Missus with the bike is much nicer!
