I had a scan read of it at the local library (well supermarket magazine section) while there to get the shopping.

More or less just collates what's been said about it before really,  plus a few pictures of James May and David Silver.

There's alot more decent stuff written about them on here without a journalists slant

Frankly, I am fed up of mag articles on the 400/4. Seems at least a couple of times/ year there is one regurgitating the same old guff. That's why I buy old magazines from way back for 20p at uautojumbles, Stafford etc.or even when you buy a specific copy on eBay it's usually less than the cost of a current one.and that includes the postage&packing

Many of them are just so lazy in as you say Ash,  regurgitating,  the same old stuff.

You can do a whole appraisal of the 750 in "wankphrasebingo" style, "the first superbike,  hydraulic disc brake, ohc 4 cylinder,  electric start, chain wears fast,  oil changes frequent, those exhaust are going to be expensive to replace, handling not as good as a brit" and that's about all you get. Oh,  and prefixed with "back in the day" if written after the millennium!

I still kick myself after throwing out all the old bike mags I bought in the 70's when I moved house in the late 80's - and have since bought many of the same mags again on eBay and at autojumbles! 🙄

I don’t buy any motorcycle publications at all now but occasionally will buy an old mag at Autojumbles I find some of the adverts very interesting to read

One of the best 400/4 articles was written by Chris Dabbs back in the late 80's for Bike magazine.  He used to own one and so did a lot of his mates (as was the case with my own 400/4 and the mates I had that owned them).  The article was therefore written by someone who owned and rode the bike when they were current and could therefore take an objective view about them. Fair to say though he loved his bike and only changed it when he became a road tester.
