750 Key Source
« on: September 05, 2019, 01:34:35 PM »
Have found old round plug ignition switch in my spares box that I want to use on my project (as I have new wiring harness with the corresponding round ignition switch plug) - but no key.
The number on the switch is N3647 and after looking at previous threads ended up here https://www.ebay.co.uk/c/1188301523
However, the seller has advised that its a 60's switch (N) and he can't provide a key (he has been really helpful providing loads of info - see 2 messages below

Hi and sorry to be the bearer of bad news on that one.
Your key requires an Ilco H73Z key blank which can only be imported from the USA at US$ 22.70 each plus shipping and customs charges followed by having it computer cut making for a very expensive key.
My suggestion is to either send away to the US for an original old stock pre-cut key or find someone over there who can cut this key onto an old stock key blank.
Trust this helps=John.

Hi, this morning I checked my code book (Baxter systems book 24) looking for your code, although it is what's know as a direct read code, #7 doesn't feature in that code series and I am wondering if you have misread the code?.
The other issue is that the Honda CB750 uses the T series codes which are different and are more common. I am able to supply most Honda T series except some T5 and T7 series. I am wondering if someone has changed your ignition lock seeing as the N series was used in the 1960's, please let me know.
Regards=John.

Any suggestions before I just use an aftermarket switch and change the square plug that comes with them
