Many years ago I was following a mate on his initial ride home from the showroom on a used Suzuki Super 6. It had stood unused for about 18 months. Dry road into a left hander and it was gone. Stitches and cosmetics for the bike. REmove it and put a hacksaw through it so nobody else is tempted.

I once had a tyre on my CX500 that was so old the tread started to separate from the canvas.  Very scary as I only noticed it when I stopped after a long ride.  Needless to say it was replaced immediately.

On my 350 I have tyres I put on in about 1989, they don't look too bad  :D
