Cheap alternative for the non - purist

Thought this may be of interest to those on the forum who aren't to bothered about originality. I discovered this by mistake when looking for a back mudguard for my lightly cafe'ed project that I intend to fit a 2-4 seat to.
Thought it was worth a go for £12.99! (cheaper if you want to get it from China). Its stainless steel so practical for all weather bikers from UK seller and only needed a few brackets to adapt. Its from a Suzuki GN250 apparently. See what you think!

It says in the specs. material stainless steel.  Looks like a bargain to me.

Defo stainless steel Rob - rolled seams are a bit rough edged but to be expected for £12.99.
Made me think that there must be more demand for CB750 mudguard than GN250 so why isn't someone like DS getting some made for the 750 - must be plenty of mark up on them

Maybe the GNs were very popular in India and the likes. Making a big market for them.

Good point - probably chinese copies of GN250 as well. Although its a throw away bike I would have thought (ie, not a bike you would restore and strive to keep on the road when things break).

My experience of the stainless steel Chinese mudguards is they fatigue fracture very quickly. I would defo use one like yours as its a bargain and worth the risk, but rubber mount it, not solid like you have. And rubber mount the rear light, which I would imagine you will be anyway, but use nylocs and slightly nipped.
