Fitting Lower Tank Trim Strips
« on: September 18, 2019, 09:42:21 AM »
The original lower tank trim strips on my K1 are a bit too brittle and cracked in a couple of places (particularly one side) to refit against Menno's lovely new paint - although I am considering it as they have aged nicely, unlike me.......

I have bought replacement replicas from DS which are not quite the same profile, but if I do use them I assume these are easily moulded using the tank brackets - the question is: do I also use heat from a hairdryer or is this not needed?

Thanks,
Andrew

Andrew, mine went on fine with no heat just following the contour of the tank.
You may need to trim them to fit as I did.
