CB400 Wannabe racer?
« on: February 27, 2009, 02:28:50 PM »
Hi Guys

I have a 1975 CB400/4 that I want too race with the problem is that performance parts are way too expensive if you pay by Rand so I need too come up with ways and means too get the bike quick for cheap which I know is far fetched but I'm going too try in any case. My main area would be high compression pistons I know Yoshimura have a 54.5mm kit but after converting it costs nearly R 8000 ??? And conrods are even more expensive ???

So any advice or help will be appreciated.

Thanks

Assuming that you are from SA, have you spoken to TTR400?

Hi SteveD

Yes I'm from SA and yes I have spoken too ttr400 he was my main inspiration in wanting too build a 400 racer he also gave me heaps of great info and assistance. I soon found out unfortunately that it would be out of my budget too build a full blown racer. So I am going with a mild set-up that is affordable but will still be fun on the track.

Cheers
