right foot peg fitting cb550 F1
« on: December 05, 2019, 02:09:54 PM »
Hi all, bought bike in bits and on to fitting the right side foot peg. It seems to me that it goes between the engine and frame because the rear lower mounting bolt isn't long enough for it to fit on the outside of frame. Only problem is the gap is too narrow for the peg.
Am I missing something obvious ...wrong bolt, wrong peg (although left side is fine)

Thanks Phil

Sorry, but I posted a picture of a left bracket and a right peg earlier  :o

This is a right bracket and peg. You can tell the right bracket because of the hole in the back

You measure it up, measure the width if the frame at the mount, add about 17 mm for the left footpeg bracket, add about 15mm for the nut that goes on the right side and you should have the bolt length  ;)

once the engine is in, there is a gap between the engine and the frame at the lower mount. There is a spacer that fills that gap  ;)

Graham is it me or does the step bolt bar looks bent at the end to you?

Also why does the rubber on the footrest not seem to line up with the brake pedal, my recollection of them is that the footrest sat at 90 degree to the brake pedal and the pic makes it look like the footrest is bent and leaning inwards.

I thought that on the set I fitted to my F2 but, they have a tilt upwards so, they don't sit at 90 degree  ;)

Right got it Trigger. I was wondering about the gap between engine and frame.

There is an 8-10mm spacer between the engine and the frame there. 50357-323-010.
