Split centre stand leg
« on: December 07, 2019, 04:00:55 PM »
I had the same thing on my old CB250N  Superscream I noticed it felt funny putting my bike on it's centre stand today and the legs where at different angles when I looked. An inspection showed a crack in the right leg. Anyone had this issue before? Looking at the price of a second hand one, does it justify if it's really possible taking it off and getting it welded?

Depends on what bike and how rare the stand, if it has rusted through chances are all the stand is bad BUT if its a rare(ish) model welding may be the only answer

trying to keep it original then maybe getting it brazed/welded (depends what has broken) otherwise there is a used one on e-bay in Italy at 130 euro but open to offers and an e-bay discount code.

I think 400 is one of the more difficult to get and pricey, probably worth stripping yours off and inspecting thorougly for welding

Strange how the 400/4 parts are so rare  I bought a whole bike last year for 150 and it had a spare engine with it . Must have been my lucky day
